Wednesday,Saturday, Sunday - Chan/Zen/Christian/Sufi Meditation:
7:30 pm. Sunday - in the north end of Courtenay by Seal Bay Park. A short reading from a Chan/Zen master, Christian mystic, Sufi or any mystic/wisdom tradition that prompts inner spiritual growth followed by 1 hour of silent meditation. In the spirit of harmony, all meditation traditions are embraced. One can sit for the full hour or take s silent walk halfway through. All meditators are encouraged to take turns leading with a reading when they feel they are ready to do so. Meditators are welcome to my home, however for those who can't come in person the meditation can also be accessed online. Contact George 250-702-0813 for more info.
7:00 - 8:00 pm. Wednesday - a second similar in person meditation, also available online, is held in another home in Courtenay every Wednesday. Contact George 250-702-0813 for more info.
10:00 am. Saturday - a third in person only meditation is held at the Brandt Hermitage by the Oyster River the second Saturday of every month. Arrive 20 minutes early and park on Catherwood Rd. There is a silent walk down the lane through the forest to the Hermitage, enter porch steps to the meditation room. Meditation is for 20-30 minutes and then a silent walk back to the road. This is a continuation of the late Fr Charles Brandt's meditation group which continues to embrace all mystic and wisdom traditions. Most of the participants in this group are Christian focused, however Fr Charles Brandt was also a practitioner of Zen and would regularly offer readings from other traditions. If you prefer to sit on the floor, please bring your own cushions. All are warmly welcomed. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
If you have a Meditation Group on Vancouver Island that you'd like listed please email details to email@example.com
